I've always wanted to climb Mt. Batulao for some reason. One of my friends told me that this is a very fun experience since the climb is not that hard and not too easy. Last November 8, I finally climbed Mt. Batulao with my friends and it was really fun.

We assembled in DLTB Bus Terminal at Gil Puyat-Buendia (just below the LRT Gil Puyat Station). We rode a bus going to Nasugbu and dropped off at Evercrest Nasugbu. If you're going there, you can simply ask the bus conductor to drop you at Mt. Batulao jump-off.

When we got to the jump-off we waited for a couple of minutes for the others to arrive and we began the trek after everyone has arrived.

On the way, we passed by the locals' houses and took photos of them

It was quite a long walk until the registration center and when we got there, we took a power rest and had some snacks before we start the actual trek.

We started the trek from the New Trail to Old Trail. Which, for me, is much easier than doing Old to New. The trail is nice and well maintained. It will take you up and down, straight, then up and down again. You can also see a scenic view of Batangas along the trail, which is really nice and relaxing.

We had unlimited breaks (lol), means we can take rest anytime we want. And as usual, every break means photo ops.

We started to trek again after we had a water break.

Then we passed by the ridge which is quite challenging for beginners and for those who has fear of heights (acrophobia). Alongside its trail is a cliff that will lead you at the foot of the mountain if you made a wrong move. But I personally find it fascinating and exciting that I even ran through that trail. Fortunately, I was born adventurous (lol) and I don't have acrophobia. But still, for first-timers, be extra careful when passing this ridge.

You can do it Lorenzo! :D

After this trail, it only took us a couple of minutes until the summit. A few more climbs of up and down then we're at the summit. We rested for a while and enjoyed the view from the top. We also had our lunch at the summit and had our photos taken of course.

After having our lunch and photo ops at the summit, we climbed down to the Old Trail. The Old trail is much challenging than the New as it requires rappelling down a cliff. First-timers are advised to do the rappelling as it is much safer. As for me, I climbed down the cliff and grabbed on to the rocks. :D

After the rappelling part is a few steep trail down then we reached another campsite where we had our snacks (some of us had lunch here) and had a quite long break while waiting for the others. Some of us continued the trek while the rest had their breaks there.

It was another trail of up and down, a few steep trail, and then we reached the registration area where we 'logged out'. A few more trails of up and down then we reached the locals' houses. Some of us rode a tricycle while the others ran down to the jump-off.

We cleaned ourselves in a local house and had a rest. After everyone had tidied up, we rode a jeep going to Tagaytay where we had our dinner at the Bulalo Point.

It was a really fun climb with my friends and I'm looking forward to our next climb, wherever that may be. I enjoyed climbing Mt. Batulao and actually plan to camp there next time. It is a really nice mountain, a very beautiful view at the summit, and nice people too. I will definitely come back here.
