Save Me

I was born in a country where storms and typhoons are not such a big deal. Since this is a tropical country, we experience more hot days than cold days. I guess this is the reason why we are not really hating on rain when it's pouring very hard. Sometimes, some of us are even actually longing for rain.

Flood is something that we are used to. But we cannot escape the fact that there are some unfortunate ones who lost their homes and loved ones because of flood. Of course, floods are caused by congested sewage and drainage, or illegal logging (for rural areas).

I love climbing the mountains and I love watching the seas. It hurts me whenever I see trash in the trail or garbage in the seas. It is not a pleasant view at all. I want everyone to appreciate the land and seascapes as they are, without dirt and trash.

We should be disciplined enough to actually start caring for the environment. Instead of throwing small garbage like candy wrappers or store receipts and instead of asking why there's flood everywhere, we could keep small garbage in our pockets and bags for the meantime. We can also start participating in tree-planting and run-for-a-cause activities. This is a small act to do but we'll never know how big it could help our city and country.

We all have one mother and home so let's all take part in saving what we have before we appreciate what we had. She provided us everything we need. She let us violated her territories for our 'progress'. She cared for us like no other. And now she asks for one thing and one thing only.

It could be a long-term goal but everything is achievable. Let's start with ourselves and be an inspiration to many then everything else will follow.
